Based on numerous questions i regularly recieve, i have tried to answer them out in a nutshell.
1) Are you self-taught or had taken any Photography course ?
-> Yes i am self-taught. I started taking photographs two year ago just after i bought my first camera. I feel, i have learned alot by joining forums and communities over internet.
2) Which camera do you use ?
-> It's a point and shoot "FUJI S5700". That's not too much fancy i guess. I saved my pocket money for about a year and ask mom and dad to pitch in. It's certainly not very promising but yeah it's worth the pennies i have spent on it. I love it. Though i am planning to upgrade to an entry level SLR system in recent future.
3) Who are those models in your photographs ?
-> People who appear in my photographs are my friend, relatives or the people i meet (certainly not professional models). Most of the times my friends help and i really appreciate it.
4) What are those background in your pictures ?
-> I mostly shoot on locations (99% cases), so the backgrounds you see exist in real. I mainly do luminance correction and color retouching. Sometimes i also go a step further and do some manipulation to meet my visual expectations.
5) What kind of photography you enjoy doing most ?
-> I like to create fashion images with a sense of drama, a photostory with a strong narrative sense and things like that. I like to see weird realities in my photographs with mixed media. Images depicting love, intimacy about women, communication problem, dark side of human, raw emotions are much appealing for me. I also like lingerie photography.
6) Which post-processing software do you use ? + Do you use any plugin ?
-> 99% of my post-processing is done on Photoshop CS4, the only plugin installed on my computer is Noise Ninja. I hate plugins like plague. Most of the times my two years of practice helps.
7) Should i buy this or that camera ?
-> It's funny to answer this out but people just ask me this question rather than googling. See, i don't have in-depth knowledge about each and every camera and it's also that technology changes everyday. There are a lot of resources out there that can help you regarding this in a much better way than i can. Don't mind, still you can ask me - i'll do whatever i can to help.
8) Where your inspiration comes from ?
-> It's the most crucial thing in my entire workflow. I look at internet for inspiration. There are a lot of incredibly talented artists out there e.g Jean Sebastien Monzani, Annie Leibovitz, Gregory Crewdson, Tim Walker to name a few. I find inspiration in books, stories, movies e.t.c. I am also inspired by other media - including illustrations and paintings. I am inspired by people i meet, i talk, i listen and i see around. I am also inspired by my real life personal experiences. There's no end to influence in an artist's world.
9) Can i use your images for ......?
-> Most of the time i will say Yes, if you send me a link of what you have done with that. But since all the images are part of my personal project, i will ensure that they are not used for crappy purpose.
Have a nice time
